My Padre’s Twisted Strawberry Lemonade
Posted on September 17, 2015

There are obvious perks of making a weekend trip home like spending the weekend beach-side, being showered with love by parents who miss me, and getting to watch the beautiful South Padre Island sunsets first hand.

However, one of my favorite things about going home is getting to taste test the newest concoctions my dad is always eager to share. This summer, our family favorite was his latest cocktail recipe he calls, “Your Padre’s Twisted Strawberry Lemonade.”
Ingredients:
- 2 oz White hat Rum from Austin Texas. (but you can use any white rum)
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 1 oz lemon juice
- Strawberries
- Ice
Directions:
Muddy 5 strawberries in a jigger. Add rum, simple syrup, lemon juice, & ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds, frost should form on outside of jigger. Strain into glass filled with ice and drink.
Enjoy a refreshing summer drink before this hot season fades away.
Sounds like a great drink.

What a tremendous mind to attract work life and send readers to a weekend vacation while still behind a work desk. The intellectual goal to our souls freedom is ones ability to reach their happiness at any given time of their life events. This is a great drink and the rememberance of being in a scenery like this reminds me that life is more than just work, but of beautiful atmospheres and great drinks that are all possible after a great day of success. Great blog.
Great reflection and good drink! Cheers Marissa.
